About the project
The CARIBBEAN TANGO FEST project wishes to celebrate the first 25 years of activity of Asd/Aps ColorTango Palermo by uniting two excellences, the Dominican Republic and Tango, through one of the many peculiarities of the state of global scope, rum. This project aims to become a vector of migration and “piracy” from all over the world to Santo Domingo, but this time through modalities and themes that are quite different: the beauty, the sharing, the creativity, and the freedom of a magnificent art such as Tango, which, thanks to the hearts of so many artists from all times and places, has transformed the pain that originated it into an instrument of freedom, beauty, and humanity of extraordinary power.
An Immaterial Universal Good, the Tango, which nourishes and nourishes the beauty and uniqueness of a Universal Material Good, Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic who for the first time will see the Tango arrive on their land! A true and extraordinary ” tanguera colonization ” by the most beautiful good and brave ” Piratas Milongueros”. Therefore, the artistic and organizational cast are examples of world excellence, having represented Tango throughout the world for over 40 years with unparalleled human quality, artistic sensitivity, and competence.
In this regard, with a logic of deep integration, the CTF project intends to support disadvantaged social realities related to the most fragile and marginalized social groups with a significant economic commitment. This long-term collaboration aims to conclude by 2030, allowing us to celebrate the first 30 years of activity of APS/ASD ColorTango Palermo in the best possible way.
We would be proud and honored to reach this important milestone together. Therefore, we believe that only together, united as a network, can we excel in realizing this dream.

VISION
The Caribbean, with its nature and peculiarities of landscape and tourism, remains one of the heart destinations for all those who love beauty and adventure. The Caribbean is a land of culture, integration, passage, and diversity, making it a unique, magical, and enchanted place. This is why Santo Domingo has been designated a Universal Material Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Tango, given its origins of migration, suffering, integration, and conquered identity, has been defined as an Intangible Cultural Property by UNESCO since September 30, 2009. This designation perfectly reflects its intimate universal human nature.
Unlike other folk dances, Tango does not have this sense of collectivity but has the ability, through solitude, to express something greater: “the feeling of a whole people” that makes everyone equal beyond any social, cultural, religious, or economic clichés. UNESCO supported the rationale for this designation, noting that Tango has a strong soul that encapsulates cultural diversity and dialogue, representing the essence of a community deserving of global recognition.
MISSION
The history of Tango is not entirely Argentine; it is closely and intimately linked to that of the Río de la Plata. Tango originated on both sides of the river that separates and unites Argentina and Uruguay. This recognition delivers to the world the history and culture of multiple populations that have contributed to the birth and evolution of what is certainly one of the most fascinating and sensual dances.
Tango finds its origins in the areas of the Río de la Plata between Argentina and Uruguay in the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is the result of a cultural fusion of at least three continents: America, where this dance was born and developed; Europe, whose emigrants settled in the Río de la Plata region and greatly contributed to its creation; and Africa, which influenced its rhythmic and melodic structure. It is in those places that the fusion of melancholy songs of distant and new lands, of loves lost and sometimes found, and of sensual melodies of courtship, seduction, and passion was born.
